Led by our Shipibo Maestros, our retreat’s core ceremonial work occurs across intensive, Traditional Ayahuasca ceremonies.
The ceremonies take place at twilight in our cute and comfortable ceremony space, Maloca.
The Shipibo shaman’ hold loving and powerful medicine.
Starting up with a gentle dose in order to ease everyone in the experience with trust and openness. We develop a relationship with the Ayahuasca plant medicine and the realm of the plants.
Much can happen during these ceremonies, no one can predict what healing will ‘look like’. However, there is always a sense of perfection in how the medicine unfolds and surprises us.
It is all about allowing, not ‘fixing’ but rather allowing ourselves to open up to what is. When we allow and open up, true, deep and long-lasting healing takes place.
We open our retreat with a traditional Andean despacho ceremony. The ‘despacho’ is a single offering to give or ‘dispatch’ to the natural world, Mother Earth or Pachamamma in Quechua, in intentional gratitude for the wonderful blessing we’ve been given to come together for healing.
Led by our Paco, a traditional shaman from the Q’eros culture of the high Andes of Peru, this sacred ceremony is a highlight of our retreat. It is such a beautiful and uplifting way to open up our hearts before we dive into our work, while also giving us the opportunity to honor the rituals, people, and the land of the Andes.
Our mountain lodge sets the absolutely perfect container for our healing work to unfold. Tucked away beneath one of the mighty Apus of Sacred Valley, ‘Petra’ – as the name suggests – is energetically solid and supportive like a rock. The lodge consists of a traditional Andean farmhouse, A wooden Maloca hut and a 7 Bedroom Lodge embraced by sprawling wild, beautiful gardens. Complete with vistas of the surrounding mountain areas that are undeniably breathtaking. Each room is equipped with comfy beds and hot showers. Our dining room with tea, water facilities and open living spaces to relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains..
We only work with trusted massage therapists who understand plant medicine work and who let their experience guide their touch.
Plant baths play a supportive role within our guest’s healing process. The plant medicine ceremonies activate and bring to the surface energies and emotions that have been collected across a lifetime and stored within our body. These are energies and emotions that have left an impression on our hearts which at times manifest in our limiting behaviours, thoughts, and beliefs.
Plant baths help us to cleanse and strengthen the external body. Assisting us to clear resistances which we are struggling to release and let go of.
We find integrational practices to be a crucial compliment to the ceremonial work.
Our integration specialists tailor each session based on the energy of the group on each particular day.
The sessions are soft, restorative and meditative on days when a gentle practice is necessary. Becoming more physical and energetic at times when energies amongst the group call for a more vigorous practice.
We provide different sessions. Yin yoga is adapted to the group’s energy flow and people’s physical experience over the course of a retreat. We adjust our Yoga and body-movement according to the group energies. Besides Yin Yoga we offer Pre-ceremonial Meditation session in which we guide you into coming back into your heart space and into your body so you truly set the tone for the ceremony and gently ease into it with peace, calm and an open heart to receive healing. Our facilitators are trained to provide different workshops, like Self-inquiries and classes are the perfect way to clear the mind, invoke a state of focus and revitalise your mind, body, and spirit.
At Spiritplantjourneys we find it crucial that we embody the experience of Plant medicine. In fact, the time in between ceremonies is as crucial as the ceremony itself. Ayahuasca is not a ”quick-fix” it is a journey you step into.
It is using this powerful medicinal plant as a tool for you to dive deeper into the relationship you have towards yourself and towards everything that is.
On our Shamanic Healing retreats we invite you to come and open up. To plant a seed and reconnect with your inner strength in order to let go of what no longer serves you and create the life your heart desires.
AYAHUASCA DIET FOOD
Our wonderful chefs prepare our meals with love and creative flair. Julian comes from the remote Q’ero community – one of the last Andean communities to be reached by the Europeans.
The Q’ero tradition and ancient Q’ero healing practices are still intact today. We are very conscious of the energy carried through in our food.
This is particularly important when we are in powerful plant medicine retreat. Fresh local ingredients and Ayahuasca friendly dishes nourish us throughout the retreat.
We do eat locally caught trout as well as chicken on an occasion throughout the retreat.
However, the menu is primarily Vegetarian/Vegan and Gluten-Free. We have no problems catering for allergies and special diets.
The energy and love that goes into our food is very important to us.
Everything we serve on retreat of course, respects the Ayahuasca diet restrictions.
Throughout the course of the retreat we participate in sharing circles. These sharing circles function to help us build trust in one another and the medicine, to learn from each other, and to open ourselves up to vulnerability. Sharing throughout such a powerful spiritual experiences also helps us to forge strong connections, trust, and cohesion amongst the group. All of the trust and support inspired in us through these sharing circles help us to go deeper into the plant medicine work.
There is ample opportunity to speak with facilitators and the shamans as we are constantly present for the groups. Our facilitators translate live and are highly proficient in Spanish.
